Our Curriculum

The Humanities Program

History, literature, philosophy, theology, and languages are braided together in an integrated curriculum utilizing the Socratic Method.

The Math & Science Program

Math and science are intimately connected; the logic of math is seen in philosophy and God’s handiwork is seen in the sciences.

The Fine Arts Program

Equal emphasis is given to the arts, so that every student learns to draw and paint, sing in the choir, act on the stage, give speeches, and engage in debate.

CLT + CLT10 Test

The Chesterton Academy of St. Andrew is committed to forming joyful saints in the Catholic Tradition. Unlike common standardized tests such as the SAT or ACT, we aim for an assessment that truly aligns with this goal. The CLT aims to assess student aptitude in skills such as grammar, literary comprehension, and mathematical reasoning, all the while drawing from great thinkers of the western tradition that inspire this love of Truth, Beauty, and Goodness. In short, the CLT is the standardized test that truly assesses what we learn and model in our classrooms.

Our testing for the CLT (for juniors and seniors) will be April 6th, 2027 from 9 a.m. to noon. The CLT10 (for freshmen and sophomores) will be April 21st, 2027 from 9 a.m. to noon.

The CLT is a normalized test, so your CLT score can be used to predict what you would likely score on the SAT or ACT, which will be helpful for students and parents to know as they assess which colleges they are interested in and what they require.
